Dear Anatolyk

Thank you for all the useful information. I had a query

Are these the 'Documents':"Personal statements, recommendation letters, ECFMG certificate, dean's letter, medical school transcripts, CV, USMLE score reports and passport size picture" that have to be faxed over? Have I omitted anything that needs to be sent?

Are we allowed to change our CAF on ERAS for the Scramble?

Your advice will be much appreciated.

A few corrections:
Use either ERAS CAF or CV, not both. You will need CV if there are some changes in your status, which cannot be added to the CAF. When compiling your CV make sure you do not skip such important data as visa status, year of graduation, etc.

Faxing a photo is useless. You need it only for e-mails.

If you don't have copies of LORs (which is OK since you most likely waived your right to see them), just create a single page with LOR writer names, titles and brief description where the LOR writer knows you from. You can start the page by:

I waived my right to the the letters from following writers:
1. Dr. XYZ...

Dear Anatolyk,

I am about to scramble today. I registered for a service called the electronic residency. I am not sure how great this service is but it vouches that it doesn't clog up the fax machines and allows you to transmit applications through their website and will only sumit the application to programs that will not OPT out of their service.

It would be great to know your opinion about this service.

Thank you.

Submit to the programs that opted out? I think you meant to say "does not submit.
1. I am a bit skeptical about the idea that programs are aware of this option.
2. Another concern of mine is that in this case programs know that this is a service sending them your application and not you.
